All praise is due to Allah (). We praise Him and seek His assistance. We ask for His forgiveness and take refuge in Him from the evil within ourselves and from the evil of our deeds. He whom Allah () guides will never be misguided yet whomever He allows to stray will never find his way. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah (), alone, He has no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His Servant and Messenger.

Dear brothers and sisters, it is incumbent upon all Muslims to recite the Holy Qur'an and to do so, incorporating the rules of tajweed. In fact this is extremely important, yet the importance of this matter is greatly under-estimated. Indeed, I myself was not taught the correct way, (although may Almighty Allah () reward my teacher for her efforts which were confined to the best of her knowledge). Alhamdulillah, by the Mercy of Allah (), I now appreciate the importance of studying tajweed with a view to enable correct recitation. So please understand that this is something that we must give priority to in our lives.

More importantly, however, is the actual implementation of these rules of tajweed. Acquiring an understanding of the rules themselves is of course relatively easy; the real task is the skilful application of these rules into one's recitation thereby achieving correct recitation of the beautiful words of Almighty Allah ().  This is where one needs commitment, perseverance and ideally, the guidance of a teacher.

Dear brothers and sisters, I am not by any means professing to be an expert in the field of Tajweed. I ask you to accept this tajweed programme as a small, humble attempt on my part towards facilitating correct Quranic reading so that minor and major errors are prevented, InshaAllah.

Whilst every effort has been made to ensure there are no errors or discrepancies in this programme, if any are found however, I urge you to please bring them to my attention. Finally, I would like to express my gratitude to each and every person who has unselfishly given of their time towards the establishment of this website.
